Custom optical components quoted around the required light path, material grade, geometry, and finishing specification.
Describe the optical function as well as the shape.
Quartz optical inquiries can involve transmitting, guiding, distributing, or presenting light within an assembly. Glass Automated Products quotes diffusers, light pipes, and other custom optical elements through fabrication, finishing, and specialist supply. Include a drawing and a description of the optical function so the review addresses more than the outside dimensions of the part.
Identify the wavelength range, clear aperture, optical path, and interfaces to the surrounding assembly. For a light pipe, show the input and output faces, length, section, and the surfaces that need a defined finish. For a diffuser, describe the required output behavior and the method by which it will be assessed. Surface texture by itself is not a complete specification for light distribution.
Material grade and surface finishing affect what must be verified. Include the approved material, allowable alternatives, transmission requirements, and any coating callouts. Specify optical tolerances and test methods where they are part of the design. If the request is still exploratory, separate the initial sample requirements from the performance targets that will be evaluated in your assembly. We can quote an evaluation component without presenting an untested system result as guaranteed.
Mechanical fit needs its own detail. Show mounting surfaces, edge treatments, critical dimensions, and areas where handling marks are unacceptable. Identify which surfaces must remain protected through shipment and whether additional processing is planned. For recurring supply, the accepted drawing revision and material designation should remain tied to the inspection and packaging instructions used for each release.

Questions before you order
Can you quote a custom light pipe?
Yes. Send the section, length, input and output geometry, material, and required surface finishes.
Can a diffuser be defined only by a photograph?
A photograph can start the discussion, but the required optical output and acceptance method need to be described.
Do you guarantee performance in any optical assembly?
Performance is agreed against the specified component requirements. System behavior also depends on the source, mounting, and other optics.
Are coated components available to quote?
Yes. Include the coating specification, wavelength range, aperture, and relevant operating conditions.
Can a prototype lead to production quantities?
Yes. Retain the accepted specification and identify any changes resulting from your evaluation.
A direct quote, starting at 1 piece.
Glass Automated Products has fabricated quartz in Huntington Beach, California, since 1998. Our in-house work includes cutting, doming, fire-polishing, grinding and finishing, cleaning, inspection, and packaging. Most specifications are quoted within one business day. There is no minimum order quantity beyond 1 piece. Fabrication timing, available documentation, and shipping are confirmed for your requirement. We ship to all 50 states and internationally.
