Tell us what the part must measure, contain, or transmit.
A laboratory component may serve as an optical path, a sample holder, a protective tube, or part of an experimental assembly. Describe that role before selecting a shape from a catalog. Include wavelength, path length, contact conditions, and mounting details when they matter to the result. A visually clear part is not automatically an optical-grade component, and a nominal vessel dimension does not define its useful internal space.
For cells and cuvettes, identify the optical faces, path length, dimensional tolerances, and any sealing requirement. For tubes, boats, crucibles, or custom labware, provide internal and external dimensions and specify the areas that contact the sample. If a material grade or impurity limit is required, include the exact specification. We can review fabrication and supply options against those details without attaching unsupported performance claims to a generic quartz description.
Early prototypes often change. Mark a sketch as a development revision and identify which features can move during fabrication review. For a second build, reference the accepted drawing rather than relying on a photograph of the first part. Include cleaning, inspection, and packaging expectations so the component arrives in a condition appropriate to the next step in your work. One piece is a valid starting quantity.
