Start with what the component must hold or transmit.
A laboratory quartz component may contain a sample, position material in a process, or provide an optical path through an instrument. Those jobs require different specifications. Glass Automated Products quotes custom laboratory components and replacement labware from drawings, samples, and application descriptions. Tell us which surfaces contact the sample, which faces are optical, and which dimensions control the fit in the instrument or holder.
For a cuvette or cell, describe the internal geometry, optical path length, clear aperture, port arrangement, and any lid or closure. Specify the wavelength range and required surface quality when optical performance matters. A rectangular outside profile alone does not establish the internal path or optical finish. Include the instrument identification when replacing an existing cell, along with any original part number and dimensional information.
For crucibles, boats, dishes, and trays, provide the usable internal space, wall and base requirements, rim geometry, and handling features. Identify the process material and operating conditions so the application can be reviewed. If a component must fit inside another assembly, show the holder and the available clearance. Specify whether dimensions apply before or after finishing and identify surfaces where marks or edge conditions could affect use.
Cleaning and packaging should follow the intended receiving process. Explain whether the part will be cleaned again in your laboratory and identify any required records or handling restrictions. For a prototype, a dimensioned sketch may be enough to start a discussion; the details needed for fabrication are confirmed with the quote. For repeat work, keep the accepted material and drawing revision together so the next order refers to the same component.

Yes. Photographs can start the inquiry; dimensions, equipment details, or a sample may be needed to establish the part.
