Define the space around the lamp.
A jacket tube is part of an assembly with its own clearances, supports, and optical requirements. Glass Automated Products supplies quartz tubing and fabricated jackets for replacement and OEM applications. We can begin with a controlled drawing, a reference sample, or an equipment and lamp identification. One development piece is a valid starting quantity, and accepted geometry can be carried forward into repeat production.
Describe the full envelope around the lamp, including connectors and any insertion or removal clearance. A tube that clears the lamp body may still interfere with an end fitting. Specify outside diameter, inside diameter or wall thickness, finished length, and the end configuration. Show ground ends, slots, shoulders, flanges, or other locating features with their reference surfaces and tolerances. Identify which features are essential to assembly and which dimensions may be discussed.
Material selection starts with the function of the jacket. Tell us whether it separates environments, protects a lamp, provides a flow path, or forms part of a thermal or optical arrangement. Include lamp type, wavelength requirements, operating conditions, and any approved material grade. Medium-pressure and amalgam applications should be reviewed against their own equipment requirements; one jacket specification should not be assumed to cover both.
For a replacement, readable lamp and equipment labels help connect the mechanical requirement to the correct assembly. Include photographs of both ends and any sleeves, seals, or retaining parts that locate the tube. If a broken jacket is the only available reference, explain which measurements are reliable. We can discuss how to resolve missing dimensions before the replacement is fabricated or supplied.
