The intended wavelength range is a component requirement, not a detail to infer from the word ultraviolet. A curing process, analytical instrument, disinfection system, and ozone-related process can need different sources. Glass Automated Products quotes UV-A, UV-B, and UV-C lamp requirements and reviews ozone-generating or ozone-free variants against the equipment’s actual specification.

For an existing lamp, provide the complete part number and spectral description from its manufacturer documentation. Preserve any suffix identifying the envelope material or source variant. The lamp envelope and other optical components influence which wavelengths reach the process. A replacement sleeve or window also needs to meet the required transmission characteristics rather than merely fitting the assembly. If the application specifies a material grade or transmission curve, include it with the inquiry.

For a new design, describe the working spectrum, optical path, output requirement, exposure geometry, and the surrounding environment. Make the ozone requirement explicit and identify the equipment provisions that relate to it. We can discuss source supply, quartz components, and electrical requirements as one inquiry. A proposed component is reviewed against the agreed specification; process results and installation safety remain functions of the complete engineered system, its controls, and its operating procedures.

Questions before you order

Can I choose a lamp just because it is labeled UV-C?

That label alone is insufficient. The exact spectrum, electrical requirements, geometry, and equipment compatibility still need to be established.

Does a clear quartz sleeve transmit every UV wavelength equally?

No. Material grade, thickness, and the specified wavelength range matter. Provide the transmission requirement for the optical component.

Can you quote ozone-free lamps?

Yes. Include the original lamp specification or the ozone-free requirement established for the equipment.

Can you supply ozone-generating variants?

They are available to quote for specified equipment. Identify the complete lamp and system requirements, including the intended operating environment.

Will a different lamp spectrum improve my process?

That requires an application and system evaluation. We can review the component requirement once the target spectrum and acceptance method are defined.
